About the program

Currently, any activity of people is reduced to the issues of collecting, storing, processing digital data and making decisions based on them. One of the most difficult objects to study and computer modeling is the Earth, and one of the foundations of the world economy is subsurface resource management. The experience of recent years has shown that classical geological and IT education do not allow subsurface use industry specialists to effectively exist at the interface of physical and digital reality, and therefore this specialty was launched.
GIS is the most universal education of all the geosciences, since any modern work is based on the "digit". In this regard, they can make a career even in areas not related to subsoil use, but related to working with objects of the surrounding reality.

Learning outcomes

  • Knowledge of geology, patterns of mineral deposits and the practical basis of its search;
  • Ability to use complex of geological prospecting and geoecological studies;
  • Ability to use and create new digital equipment, robotic systems for studying the Earth;
  • Ability to do field modeling and calculation of reserves.

Career opportunities

The educational program includes opportunities to participate in scientific research, production work, as well as, field practice at the unique geological site "Chernorud" by the Small Sea. As part of subsequent field practices, there is an opportunity to gain experience in difficult conditions of geological exploration.
GIS is the most universal education of all the geosciences, since any modern work is based on the "digit". In this regard, they can make a career even in areas not related to subsoil use, but related to working with objects of the surrounding reality. The graduate is a real engineer who is able not only to apply, but also to create and use the most modern solutions for the geological industry, both in the office or laboratory, and on an expedition.
