Achieving sustainable development goals

In 2015, Heads of State and Government and public figures at the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly set new global sustainable development goals (SDGs). It was a call to action to protect the planet and ensure prosperity and well-being for all people. In response to the challenges facing the world today, UNESCO calls for adherence to established rules that improve people’s lives. Irkutsk National Research Technical University supports these ideas and manages its research, academic and economic activities according to the principles set out in 17 SDGs.

Irkutsk National Research Technical University has been actively participating in the development of society for 90 years, providing equal educational opportunities for all segments of the population and solving the global problems of Siberia and the Far East. The University is aware of its role in creating a just, educated and socially responsible society.

1. We are determined to promote sustainable development in research and education.

2. As a polytechnic university, we are capable of providing solutions to global problems based on sustainable development goals.

3. Irkutsk National Research Technical University provides students, faculty stuff and researchers with a platform to explore, research, experiment and find the best possible solutions for our common sustainable future.

4. In our activities, we want to pursue the sustainable development goals, by caring for the environment and directing our activities for the benefit of society, its development and the development of the region as a whole.
