Academic calendar

The academic year at INRTU officially begins on 1 September and ends on 30 June. The autumn semester courses begin in September, the spring semester courses start in February.

The beginning of the academic year for students depends on the study program (it starts in September-October) and ends in June-July. The summer months (July-August) usually are vacation time.

Accommodation

INRTU provides all participants of the exchange programs with a place / room at a dormitory located on the territory of University campus

Dormitory rooms have all the required furniture items already installed. Facilities in room: bed, writing desk, chair, wardrobe, kitchen table. Bed items incl. bed-linen are provided free of charge by check-in. Internet access is available and paid separately.

Every floor of each dormitory building has kitchen areas for students' individual cooking with all the required kitchen equipment installed. Besides, the dormitory buildings are equipped with the laundry rooms for washing.

Dormitory Fees: ~ 800 - 5 000 RUB / month / person

Medical insurance

All INRTU foreign students must have a voluntary health insurance policy valid on the territory of Russia. It can be purchased either in their home country or in Irkutsk upon arrival. In latter case, assistance will be rendered by staff of INRTU Center of International Services. 

Health care coverage for the insurance policy of INRTU foreign student must include:

  • out-patient service;
  • laboratory diagnostics;
  • periodic health examination;
  • in-patient service for emergency cases;
  • emergency medical care;
  • repatriation of the deceased.
Fees and expenses

Exchange students from partner universities as well as participants of academic mobility programs are exempted from tuition fee payment, if it is stipulated by the terms of student exchange agreement / program.
