INRTU and Manchurian Institute of Russian Language Launch Joint Bachelor's Degree Program in Modern Design

Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU) and the Manchurian Institute of Russian Language (MIRL) have signed an agreement to launch a joint Bachelor's degree program in modern design. The signing took place during an official visit of an INRTU delegation to the People's Republic of China.

The Russian and Chinese parties have agreed to launch a program featuring mutual recognition of learning outcomes. Under the terms of the agreement, the training of students is divided into two stages. For the first three years, students pursue Environmental Art Design and Visual Communication Design at the Manchurian Institute of Russian Language. After that, they continue their studies for at least two years at the Department of Monumental and Decorative Painting and Design named after V.G. Smagin at INRTU, following the Design Bachelor's degree program.

Upon defending their graduation thesis at MIRL, students will receive a diploma of higher professional education. After completing their studies at INRTU and passing the state final examination, graduates will be awarded a Bachelor's diploma in Russian. If needed, students can also receive a diploma academic transcript in English.

It should be noted that the Department of Monumental and Decorative Painting and Design named after V.G. Smagin at INRTU has a strong track record of working with Chinese students. Over the past five years, more than 20 Chinese graduates have successfully completed programs in Monumental and Decorative Arts (Painting) and Design. Many of them have gone on to pursue Master's degrees at other leading Russian universities. The department's faculty actively integrate Chinese students into the university environment, helping them unlock their creative potential through participation in art exhibitions, competitions, and festivals. During their time at INRTU, students also study the Russian language.

This autumn, the first students from the Manchurian Institute of Russian Language will arrive at INRTU as part of the new educational project.
