The Information Technologies in Earth Sciences and Environmental Science program is aimed at training qualified IT-specialists for Russia and Asian and African countries who are well-trained to work in modern industries related to environmental resource management.
The main feature of the program is the formation of a unique understanding of how the requirements of digital reality, where spatial defined data is stored, processed, and analyzed, affect the geological research in physical reality and vice versa. During the program, students gain significant personal research and development experience at the intersection of these two aspects of reality.
Basic IT-competencies in the development of software and hardware complexes, mathematical data analysis, the basics of digital signal processing, geodata interpretation, etc. will allow graduates to work in industries not related to Earth Sciences or Environmental Science, if desired.
