About the program

The PhD program «Electric Power Engineering» is aimed to train highly qualified specialists in the design and operation of power plants and power systems, ready to perform independent research work. This PhD program focuses on the field of modeling, design and operation of power plants and electric power systems. PhD students master the methodology of scientific research on the development and improvement of the theoretical and technical base of the electric power industry.
Research work is carried out on the basis of the laboratories of the Department of Electric Stations, Networks and Systems: «Operating Modes of Electric Power Systems», «Diagnostics of Electrical Equipment», «Relay Protection and Automation», «Electrical Part of Stations and Substations», training substation 110/10 kV, laboratory of relay protection and automation of EUROSIBENERGO-INRTU Corporate Research Training Center. Practical training takes place in research, industrial and design organizations and at the Department of Electric Stations, Networks and Systems of INRTU.
