About the program

The program is focused on the development of theory and applied aspects of mathematical modeling. Successful mathematical modeling involves solving a mathematical problem, which a mathematical model leads to. Sometimes a mathematical model is too complex to solve a problem analytically, so it needs to be solved by numerical methods. Then, when you have a bunch of different algorithms that implement different models and numerical methods, you need a special program to control, conduct experiments and evaluate the results. These three aspects of successful problem solving based on mathematical modeling constitute the essence of the postgraduate education program.
The purpose of the program is to train "one-of-a-kind" scientists who are able to set a problem, build a mathematical model, find a solution to a problem based on a mathematical model and create complex software systems.
During the training, you will learn such disciplines as modern technologies of mathematical modeling and computational experiment, technologies for the development of modern problem-oriented software complexes and others.

Learning outcomes

  • Ability to lead an independent research activity;
  • ability to develop an advanced mathematical models;
