The aim of the educational program is to prepare academic staff that is capable of performing innovative activity in particular branch of geophysics and related academic fields and focusing on the part of geological exloration works that require the deep knowledge of exploration geophysics methods, including:
- basics of theory and principles of interpretation of geophycal methods;
- relations between geological environment and geophysical fields, methodology of integration of geophysical methods and techniques of complex interpretation of geophysical data;
- modern technologies for performing geophysical works and software for processing and interpretation of geological and geophysical data.
Postgraduate students are trained using geoinformation systems such as MapInfo, Micromine, QGIS, etc.
They do their research in the laboratories of the University and Alexander P. Vinogradov Institute of Geochemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academidy of Sciences.

PhD students that complete the program can work in educational organizations, research institutes, geological prospecting and exploration companies, mining companies, environmental monitoring companies.
