About the program

This program is aimed at students who have an interest in studying and understanding the key aspects of finance, accounting and taxation in order to have a professional career in this field. It will give a global perspective on investment markets and asset classes, provide practical as well as theoretical knowledge on the processes and mechanics underlying investment, teach to evaluate the resilience of tax and financial investment schemes and clarify the taxation role in modern society, its impact on institutions, markets, organizations and even on the behavior of ordinary citizens.
It seeks to give students a learning experience that allows them to develop proficiencies that create effective accounting professionals in today's changing business environment globally.

Learning outcomes

  • Describe, explain, and integrate fundamental concepts underlying accounting, finance, taxation and management;
  • Critically evaluate financial statement information, use this information to support business processes and practices, such as problem analysis and decision making;
  • Apply knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and managerial accounting theories to business organizations, state and local governments, and nonprofit organizations;
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, work effectively with others, capitalising on their different thinking, experience and skills;
  • Describe and explain the ethical and social responsibilities of accountants in ensuring the integrity of financial information.
