INRTU Secures Spot Among Russia’s Top 100 Universities (RAEX)
The RAEX Rating Agency has published its 15th annual ranking of the top 100 Russian universities, with Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU) retaining its 83rd position on the list.
According to RAEX, the ranking was presented at the the RAEX educational forum "Three Missions of Russian Education". The 2026 leaders include universities from 30 different regions, though institutions based in the federal cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg secured more than half of the top 100 spots.
Engineering and technical institutes significantly consolidated their positions, with their representation in the ranking increasing to 39 universities this year. Among them is INRTU, which held onto 83rd place, making it the only higher education institution from the capital of the Irkutsk Region to enter the RAEX ranking this time.
The institutions were evaluated based on three primary metrics. INRTU ranks 107th in the quality of education, 74th in employer demand for graduates, and 58th in research and development activity.
A total of 213 universities submitted data for this year's ranking, and the combined number of respondents in the online surveys exceeded 160,000 people.
