INRTU International Students Win Open Olympiad in Russian as a Foreign Language
The National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute” (MPEI) hosted the 20th Open Olympiad in the Russian Language for international students from non-philological universities across the Russian Federation. This year the topic of Olympiad was “I love you, Russia!”.
The Cameroonian students of the Preparatory Russian Language Course at the INRTU Baikal School of BRICS, Department of Russian Language Didactics – Tchuenkam Mbah Loic, Tsobgni Nguetse Ulrich, Mamoum A Dong Fredy, Nchouapine Mohamed Nazirou, Nintedem Bristol, and Melango Nkwelle Ghislain – won first place in the "Song Contest (Band)" category for beginner-level students with their performance of "For You, Motherland!".
Tsague Souna Junior, current student at the School of Architecture, Construction and Design, won first place in the "Song Contest (Solo)" category for students who have been studying Russian for more than a year. Junior performed the song “Forward, Russia!”.
"We are proud of our students. Their success is the result of systematic work by our teachers, high personal motivation of the learners, and the atmosphere of intercultural dialogue that we deliberately foster at the university,"
noted Senior Teacher Tatiana Zhendareva.
"We are incredibly proud of our students' victory! While the competition was held in person, we submitted videos of our students' performances, and they truly won the hearts of the jury. Our students were absolutely delighted to receive diplomas and commemorative gifts from MPEI,"
said Alla Antonova, Head of the Department of Russian Language Didactics at the BS BRICS, as she congratulated the students.
