INRTU International Summer School of Russian Language Graduates Defend Final Projects

The International Summer School of Russian Language for international students concluded at INRTU on June 10. The graduates of the educational project presented their final works and received certificates of completion.

The two-week program opened at Irkutsk National Research Technical University on June 2, bringing together 18 students from universities across Uzbekistan and Mongolia. Staff from the International Office of the International Affairs Department and lecturers from the Department of Russian Language Didactics at the Baikal School of BRICS of INRTU implemented the project.

The curriculum combined intensive language courses with project management training. Participants also went on guided tours of Irkutsk and its cultural landmarks.

For their final day, the 18 participants prepared presentations in Russian, exploring the literary worlds of Alexander Pushkin, Marina Tsvetaeva, and Vladimir Nabokov. The students also introduced experts to topics ranging from mythology to cosmetology and football, while displaying Mongolian cuisine, traditional attire, the Morin Khuur musical instrument, and the ancient capital city of Kharkhorin.

The summer school students received a visit of support from the Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk, Aslam Akbarov. Prior to the event, the Consul General met with INRTU Rector Mikhail Korniakov to discuss prospects for future cooperation and the development of academic ties.

During his conversation with the students, Aslam Akbarov emphasized that the Russian language has historically remained highly sought after on the global stage.

The closing ceremony commenced with a video presentation highlighting the participants' most memorable moments throughout the summer school.

Anna Minaeva, a specialist of the International Office, congratulated the participants on successfully completing the program and presented them with their certificates.

Nina Berngard, Head of the International Office, noted that the university actively expands its international relations:

“Such schools inspire students from various countries to pursue exchange and study-abroad programs at INRTU in the future”.

In response, lecturers Irina Zolotareva and Natalia Petrova expressed their gratitude to the participants for their dedication and hard work.

“You were highly engaged in class and attended every lecture. Furthermore, the diligence you showed in preparing your final projects truly impressed all the instructors. It was fascinating for us to learn about your national cultures while sharing our own knowledge with you,”

Natalia Petrova said.
