INRTU and SIBSTRIN create a joint dissertation council
Delegation of INRTU led by Rector Mikhail Kornyakov visited Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SIBSTRIN) on an official visit.
At the end of 2021, INRTU and SIBSTRIN signed an agreement on cooperation, which provides for the implementation of joint research and educational projects, exchange of practices in the implementation of new technologies in the educational process.
The INRTU team was represented by Vitaly Peshkov, director of the School of Architecture, Construction and Design of INRTU, Sergey Alexandrov, head of the Scientific and Educational Center "International Winter Urban University", Viktor Chupin, head of the Department of Urban Construction and Economy, Konstantin Komarov and Sergey Makarenko, assistant professors of the Department of Construction Engineering.
During the visit the INRTU staff got acquainted with the leading scientific schools of SIBSTRIN, which successfully solve the problems of the construction complex of the Novosibirsk region. INRTU students were interested in technologies of new building materials production from industrial waste products, compositions of effective composite binders and cement-free concretes, methods of engineering investigation of buildings and constructions.
One of the key events was the signing of the agreement about the creation of the joint dissertation council on two specialties: "Water Supply, Water Disposal. Construction of structures, water protection systems" and "Management of life cycle of construction objects". The newly created board is planning to defend dissertations for the degree of candidate and doctor of science.
According to the words of the rector of Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering Yury Skolubovich the agreement was achieved during more than a year.
"We were actively discussing, forming the members of the Dissertation Council, and preparing the necessary package of documents.
The signed agreement is only the first step in getting us permission to open a dissertation council from the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Today we have three graduate students who have already received their dissertations. I would like to note once again that this is being done under an agreement on mutually beneficial cooperation between our universities. This is just one of the planned directions that we are carrying out," emphasized Yuri Skolubovich, Rector of SIBSTRIN.
Rector Mikhail Kornyakov congratulated everyone present on the important event and noted the relevance of creating a joint dissertation council for these specialties for INRTU and the Irkutsk region:
"The first specialty concerns the water management system. Our scientific research will contribute to the conservation of the great Lake Baikal, as well as other bodies of water in Russia. The second specialty is related to the creation and use of new technologies in construction. We hope that our joint developments, software products and mathematical models will contribute to the development of the domestic direction in BIM technologies."
Rector Mikhail Kornyakov also said that INRTU intends to participate in the interregional architectural festival "Architecture in Siberia", which will take place in Novosibirsk and is the most important annual architectural event in Russia. During the festival INRTU plans to announce the "Siberian Young Architects" program and sign an agreement with the Sibirian Federal District universities on their participation in this project with the aim of identifying the best architectural graduates and creating an annual "TOP-100" list of the personnel reserve for the professional community and state bodies.
In conclusion, Rector Kornyakov invited students and experts of SIBSTRIN to take part in the summer session of the international town planning university, which will take place in Baikalsk.
