Degrees Awarded to IT Graduates at INRTU
A graduation ceremony for students of the School of Information Technologies and Data Science took place on July 7 at INRTU. This year, 187 students completed their studies, including 68 honors graduates.
INRTU Rector Mikhail Korniakov congratulated the graduates and thanked them for their contributions to university projects and activities. He noted that the university had done its best to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed for successful careers.
“Today you receive your diplomas and begin your professional careers. Our industry partners are here to congratulate you and invite you to join their teams. I wish you success in achieving your goals. Be proud to call yourselves INRTU graduates”.
A memorable moment of the ceremony was Mikhail Korniakov’s performance of the song A Man in Love with Polytech.
Aleksei Govorkov, Director of the School of Information Technologies and Data Science, thanked students, parents, and faculty members for their support and dedication.
“Remember the friends and classmates who shared this journey with you. I would also like to thank our faculty and your parents for their support and belief in your success”.
Semyon Samokhvalov, Head of Information Security Department at Gazprom Dobycha Irkutsk LLC, described the diploma as a ticket to a professional career.
Maksim Shteiger, Head of the Irkutsk Linear Production Department of Main Gas Pipelines at Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk LLC, wished graduates continued professional growth.
Denis Aryshtaev of BFT Holding LLC encouraged graduates to remember the confidence and sense of achievement they felt on graduation day.
Representatives of ISP Systems, En+ Digital, and the Forus Group also congratulated the graduates, encouraging them to stay adaptable, continue learning, and stay engaged in their work.
Nikolai Bairbiliktuev, a graduate in Computer Science, highlighted the growing importance of intelligent information systems and artificial intelligence.
“My field focuses on intelligent information processing and data management systems. AI is helping organizations improve efficiency and make better use of information”.
His Startup as a Diploma project focused on a digital system that detects fatigue in truck and heavy equipment operators. Developed for En+ Group, the technology is designed to improve road safety. After graduation, Bairbiliktuev will join the En+ Group Digital team.
Honors graduate Valeria Adakhovskaya, who studied Information Systems and Technology, challenged the stereotype that IT is a male-dominated field.
“Success in IT depends on personal qualities, patience, and professional skills. In our group of 30 students, the number of women and men was almost equal”.
Lev Golubev graduated with honors from the Master’s degree program in Artificial Intelligence.
“My research focused on improving breast cancer diagnostics using computer vision technologies. The project was carried out in cooperation with the Irkutsk Regional Oncology Center”.
The celebration featured performances by the Folk club of ethnic percussion "Ethnobit studio", special guest Andrey Martsenyuk, curator of the I Hear the World project, and Maria Artyomova, soloist of the Folk club of the Russian song "Kalina".
