About the program
The objectives of the master's degree program are related to the professional training of specialists in the field of physical chemistry, mastering the methods of planning and organizing the work of research teams to perform the task, the application of knowledge in a wide range of specialist competencies. The program is aimed at solving research and pedagogical types of tasks of professional activity. The training is conducted using the latest pedagogical techniques and technologies. Internships are held at INRTU or the research centers and institutes of the SB Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation. The field of professional activity of graduates who have the master's degree program includes the fields of science, high-tech technologies and chemical education, cover a set of tasks of theoretical and applied physical chemistry, as well as related natural science disciplines. The graduate is able to carry out research and teaching activities in the field of chemistry and related sciences.
Learning outcomes
- Knowledge of the most relevant areas of research in modern theoretical and experimental chemistry (synthesis of nanoscale chemical objects and application of chemical approaches in nanotechnology, behavior of chemical systems in extreme conditions, chemistry of life processes, chemistry and ecology);
- Understanding of the principles of functioning of modern scientific equipment and the ability to work with it;
- Knowledge of the most relevant areas of research in modern theoretical and experimental chemistry (synthesis of nanoscale chemical objects and application of chemical approaches in nanotechnology, behavior of chemical systems in extreme conditions, chemistry of life processes, chemistry and ecology);
- Understanding the principles of teaching chemistry in high school.
Career opportunities
The realization of career opportunities is associated with various areas:
* research and control of chemical processes occurring in natural, industrial or laboratory conditions, identification of general patterns of their occurrence and the possibility of managing them;
* study of the mechanisms of chemical transformations and the possibility of modifying materials based on them;
* planning and organizing the work of research teams to perform the task and managing them;
* performing expert and consulting functions that require high qualifications in the field of chemistry and the use of chemical knowledge in related fields.
Graduates will find jobs in the education system, laboratories of state and non-state scientific centers conducting research in the field of chemistry and related fields (metallurgy, biochemistry, geochemistry, oil and gas chemistry, ecology, pharmaceuticals, etc.), commercial organizations associated with the production or sale of chemical products.
