About the program

In the modern world, technical progress is possible thanks to scientific knowledge, the development of new types of energy and the creation of new materials. The development of outer space, the creation of new types of weapons, the study of the depths of the sea and Antarctic regions cannot be imagined without the creation of new materials capable of working in extreme conditions. The knowledge gained during the study of the "Materials Science" program allows one to master theoretical and practical skills in creating new materials or improving the quality of structural materials.
Competitive advantages of the program:
- the program is based on advanced technologies of aerospace technology, which is being mastered and created in our region;
- the program is supported by a modern laboratory base, which is located in the educational and research laboratory "Materials and technologies in mechanical engineering";
- the knowledge gained during the development of the "Materials Science" program allows graduates to work in the fields of mechanical engineering, metallurgy and construction.

Learning outcomes

  • Ability to carry out scientific research in the field of materials technology, to set and solve research and practical problems;
  • Ability to carry out computational-theoretical and experimental studies using computer technologies;
  • Skills of independent use of technical means to determine the structure and properties of materials and products from them.

Career opportunities

The career opportunities of a specialist who has mastered the Materials Science program are very high. Any industrial enterprise deals with materials that need to be checked for compliance with state standard, researched, improved, offered cost-effective options, and created new materials. Therefore, career growth is quite wide - from a material controller to a designer of new materials. Specialists can work as technologists, researchers, heads of laboratories and departments for the creation of new structural materials.
