More Than 100 Students Graduate from INRTU Baikal School of BRICS

A total of 121 students graduated fr om the Baikal School of BRICS at INRTU. The graduation ceremony took place in the university’s assembly hall on July 3.

INRTU Rector Mikhail Korniakov said the university had done everything possible to prepare highly competitive professionals by providing students with strong academic knowledge, modern technologies and up-to-date teaching methods.

“Dear graduates, the day you have been waiting for has arrived. Thank you for your achievements in academics, research, sports and creative projects. Remember the teachers and mentors who guided you, and thank your families for their support.
We are not saying goodbye. We hope many of you will continue your studies in our master’s and PhD programs, and we look forward to working with you in the future. You are now members of the INRTU Alumni Association. We wish you success in reaching your goals”.

As a special gift, Mikhail Korniakov performed the song A Man in Love with Polytech.

Sergei Senderov, Deputy Director for Research at the Melentiev Energy Systems Institute of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, also congratulated the graduates.

“This is an important milestone. Now it is time to apply your knowledge in industry and research. Graduates in energy-related fields are welcome to continue their studies at our doctoral school. Our institute is the only one in the Russian Academy of Sciences that studies both individual energy facilities and interconnected energy systems across the country”.

INRTU Vice-Rector for International Affairs Stepan Bykov said the graduates had completed an important stage of their lives and were ready to begin their professional careers.

“You studied at the Baikal School of BRICS, wh ere international cooperation is part of everyday life. Here you learned to work in multicultural teams and understand different languages and cultures. Your diploma is only the beginning. Real success comes when you apply your knowledge. We believe each of you will find your place in science, business or your chosen profession, and you will always be welcome back at INRTU”.

According to Anna Kireenko, Director of the Baikal School of BRICS, more than 80% of this year’s 121 graduates have published research papers, while one-third took part in academic mobility programs. The 2026 class was also the first to complete the English-taught Finance and Accounting and Linguistics and Business Communications programs. Several students earned double degrees in economics and computer science.

Vladimir Zhulikov graduated with honours from the Linguistics and Business Communications program. Fluent in English and Chinese, he focuses on corpus and computational linguistics, particularly large-scale text analysis.

“During my studies, I worked with Associate Professor Vitaliy Ruposov from the Department of Mine Surveying and Geodesy, supporting Chinese master’s students in their studies and internships. I plan to continue my education at INRTU in the Master’s degree program Digital Technologies, Networks and Big Data”, 

Vladimir said.

Journalism graduate Alina Sautskaya highlighted the supportive atmosphere at the university and the opportunity to learn from practising journalists.

“The relationship between students and lecturers is friendly and encouraging, which makes learning more effective. Learning from experienced journalists has been especially valuable”, 

she said.

Nikolay Milushkin graduated with honours in Power Supply and was named among the Top 100 INRTU students. 

“Along with professional knowledge, I gained valuable connections at INRTU. I plan to continue with a master’s degree while working. English is essential in the energy sector, and the English-language program gave me technical translation skills and strong international career prospects”, 

Nikolay said.
