The participants of the Polytechnic forum decided to organize the Association of Tajik Students

INRTU hosted the first forum of the Tajik Youth of the Baikal Region on February 16. The participants of the forum decided to establish the Association of Tajik Students.

In the opening of the forum, Stepan Bykov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, told that the university has more than 1,500 students from 44 countries. There are 88 students from Tajikistan who are studying engineering at INRTU.

"INRTU is an international university, and we are glad that you want to get technical professions. Many of you continue studies at master's and postgraduate level after completing bachelor's degree. We welcome the students who found time and attended the forum to talk about the opportunities for Tajik youth in the region," said Stepan Bykov.

According to Murivat Malikshoev, the head of the Tajik National Cultural Society "Compatriot", about 500 citizens of Tajikistan are studying in Irkutsk universities and colleges. Young specialists work in various spheres, including education, medicine and construction. Navruz is celebrated and thematic festivals are held in the Irkutsk region every year.

Murivat Malikshoev told that The Association of Tajik Students will be a self-governing organization of young people:

"We will organize a meeting, choose a chairperson from active college and university students and make an action plan. The Association will work in such areas as science, culture, social life and sports."

Anastasia Khozhenoeva, Advisor of the Ethno-confessional Relations Department of the Administration of the Governor and Government of the Irkutsk Region on Public Relations and National Relations, presented letters of gratitude to Stepan Bykov, Anna Melenteva, Assia Kontrimovich, Tatiana Dashko and Sergei Filippov for their help in the organization of the forum.

Among the honored guests of the forum were Yulia Malanina (Leading Expert of Irkutsk Representative Office of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Valentina Nikulsheeva,(the Head of the Department of Work with Higher Educational Institutions and Pedagogical Staff of Priangarie Ministry of Education), Dmitry Shulgin (Acting Head of the Department of Strategic State Youth Policy of the Priangarie Ministry of Youth Policy).

Firuz Murodzoda, Second Secretary of the General Consulate of the Republic of Tajikistan in Novosibirsk, spoke through video conference. The First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Youth and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Shabnam Karim Rahimzoda also addressed to the forum participants via video conference. She spoke about support measures developed for compatriot students by the authorities of the republic.

Head of the regional branch of the National Public State Organization "Assembly of the Peoples of Russia" Maksim Khvostishkov addressed the participants of the event on behalf of the General Director, Hero of Russia Aleksandr Darkovich.

Chairman of the Commission on Ethnic Relations and Freedom of Conscience of the Public Chamber of the region Aleksey Gordin and Chairman of the Irkutsk branch of the National Public Movement "Youth Assembly of Peoples of Russia "WE-RUSSIANS" Yana Stupina congratulated the participants on the opening of the first forum.

The program of the forum included speeches of representatives of Irkutsk State Agrarian University named after A.A. Ezhevsky, Irkutsk State Transport University, Irkutsk State Medical University and Baikal State University. The reports were devoted to the work with foreign students and the best practices of socio-cultural adaptation of Tajik students. Assia Kontrimovich, Director of the Center for International Services, shared the experience of Irkutsk Polytechnic University.

Nodira Elmurodova, a senior student at Irkutsk State Medical University, spoke about the benefits of targeted education.
