"Professional Start" from MMC Norilsk Nickel

INRTU Career Center organized a meeting between students and representatives of MMC Norilsk Nickel on February 17. Future mining engineers, metallurgists, heat power engineers, and geologists were interested in the presentation.

In the opening of the meeting, Sergei Anosov, Vice Rector for Campus and Corporate Managment, emphasized that MMC Norilsk Nickel is a strategic partner of the University. The company actively develops its human capacity as a leader in the mining and metallurgical industry in Russia. INRTU students can apply their theoretical knowledge at Norilsk Nickel's production sites. Sergei Anosov recommended students to take into consideration offers of the company and take part in youth programs with further employment.

Ekaterina Isakova went from a structural engineer to the leading specialist of the Department of the Innovations in the Polar Division of Norilsk Nickel in two years. She shared impressions about her work and noted that the company provides all opportunities for a comfortable life:

The students were offered internships under the "Professional Start" program with a mentor. After successful performance, many of them have an opportunity to sign a target contract, which guarantees a scholarship and employment at the Polar Division of Norilsk Nickel. Elena Shilko, the supervisor of the "Professional Start" program, provided the students with more detailed information.

Yulia Ponomareva, Leading Specialist of the HR Department of "Medvezhy Ruchey", invited Polytech students to the enterprise.

Students of the Department of Mine Surveying and Geodesy learned how to use the mobile laser scanner GEXCEL Heron Lite. The workshop for polytechnic students was conducted by technical specialist Purbo Erdyniev. Igor Zhuravlev, Senior Manager of Mineral Resources Department of Norilsk Nickel Head Office, told about the stages of career building.

Students of the Department of Secondary Vocational Education visited the presentation of Norilsk Nickel on February 20. Polytechnic students are ready to join the "Polar College" youth program.
