Perpetual Motion Student Construction Team Joins Alabuga Stroy and Alabuga Composite Projects

INRTU’s Perpetual Motion student construction team spent its summer work season in Yelabuga, Republic of Tatarstan. The students took part in two major projects at the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, Alabuga Stroy and Alabuga Composite.

According to Ruslan Bateev, head of the team’s press service and a student at the INRTU School of High Technologies, it was an eventful season.

“Most of the team, myself included, was assigned to Alabuga Stroy. We worked with Construction and Installation Unit No. 1 on a warehouse for agricultural machinery, doing everything from excavation work to road repairs. Other team members worked with Unit No. 11 on wall finishing and Unit No. 13 on final preparations for handover and furniture assembly,”

Ruslan said.

For the first time, Perpetual Motion also joined the Alabuga Composite project. The decision was deliberate: the team members wanted to test their skills on more technically demanding facilities.

Notably, women made up half of the INRTU team assigned to the project. Among them was Elizaveta Fedorova, an INRTU student majoring in Applied Computer Science in Economics:

“I worked as a composite lay-up operator, so I was constantly handling resin, adhesive and special fabrics. It is meticulous work that requires you to juggle several tasks at once: joining components, coating them and finishing the edges. It was very difficult at first, particularly because of the materials involved. Resin has to be handled with extreme care to avoid allergic reactions or chemical burns”.

Background:

JSC SEZ IPT ALABUGA is a full-service infrastructure partner providing staffing, social, industrial and construction infrastructure. Over 15 years of operation, the company has built a strong team that continues to develop the special economic zone using leading international practices.

Alabuga Stroy is a work project run by the All-Russian Youth Public Organization Russian Student Teams (RSO). It brings students into the construction and finishing of industrial and engineering infrastructure facilities at the Alabuga SEZ.

Alabuga Composite is one of the largest industrial projects run by Russian Student Teams. In summer 2024, 1,019 students from 32 regions of Russia worked at the composite production facility. Many later receive job offers from Alabuga SEZ resident companies after graduation.
