More Than 240 Construction Graduates Complete Their Studies at INRTU
This year, 241 students graduated fr om INRTU with construction-related degrees, including 105 honors graduates. They are set to begin careers in engineering, construction, cadastral services, and the oil and gas companies.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Vladimir Smirnov congratulated graduates and their families, expressing confidence that the knowledge and skills gained at INRTU would help them succeed.
“Your university years are unforgettable. I hope you keep the spirit, energy, and optimism of student life with you.
Many of you may one day return as industry partners. INRTU works closely with major Russian companies, and its doors will always remain open to you”.
Employer partners also congratulated the graduates. Acting Minister of Construction of the Irkutsk Region Alexey Izotov called them the future of the region’s construction industry.
“Construction is about creating. Society will always need people who build. I wish you every success”.
Aleksandr Khaltubaev, Deputy Director of the Road Directorate of the Irkutsk Region and a 2010 INRTU graduate, invited young engineers to join the organization.
“INRTU has given you a strong foundation. Become skilled professionals and make your university proud".
Alexander Popov, First Deputy General Director of the Irkutsk Region Capital Repair Fund for Apartment Buildings, noted that graduates can build careers in both construction and building maintenance.
Graduates also received congratulations from representatives of Gazstroyprom JSC and Transneft Vostok LLC.
Vitalii Peshkov, Director of the School of Architecture, Construction and Design, encouraged graduates to continue their education through master's and PhD programs.
“Enjoy your work and be proud to say that you graduated from INRTU. An INRTU diploma is a mark of quality”,
he said.
Artem Chernykh is among the first graduates of INRTU’s new program in Design, Construction and Operation of Oil and Gas Pipelines and Storage Facilities. He says the profession offers strong opportunities and is currently considering positions with major energy companies.
“An INRTU degree opens many career paths. During my internship, I worked on a rotational schedule.
Student life gave me great memories. I met many wonderful people here, and I may soon be working alongside some of them”.
Honors graduate Valeria Krasnova, who already held a law degree and worked in the road sector, chose INRTU to gain the technical qualifications needed for career growth.
“Balancing work and full-time study was difficult, but determination and my dream of building roads helped me succeed. Today, I work as a road infrastructure expert.
I am especially grateful to Professor Sergey Shaburov, under whose guidance I completed a thesis on improving safety and comfort on the region’s longest highway”.
Ekaterina Ermakova, a graduate in Land Management, Cadastre and Land Monitoring, was named among the university’s Top 100 Graduates and received an award from the Alabuga Special Economic Zone.
During her studies, Ekaterina published five academic papers and took part in research projects combining physics and construction engineering.
“I also studied at the Digital Department, wh ere I developed software for calculating land parcel boundaries. The experience showed how INRTU prepares students to apply their skills both in the office and in the field. My next goal is to pursue a master’s degree and continue working in my profession”.
