INRTU PhD Student Alexander Kryukov Took the Second Place at the International Conference “Electric Power Engineering in the Eyes of Youth”
PhD students and staff members of the School of Power Engineering of INRTU took part in the XIV International Scientific and Technical Conference “Electric Power Engineering in the Eyes of Youth”. PhD student Alexander Kryukov's report took the second place in the section “Industrial Power Engineering. Energy Efficiency”. The event was held on September 30 - October 4 in Stavropol.
The conference “Electric Power Engineering in the Eyes of Youth” is held annually in various Russian universities. This time the North-Caucasus Federal University was the venue of the event. The conference was attended by 165 young specialists, students and postgraduates from 17 Russian and foreign universities.
The program committee consisted of Konstantin Suslov, Professor of the Department of Power Supply and Electrical Engineering of INRTU, and Ilia Shushpanov, Associate Professor. PhD students Alexander Kryukov, Victoria Piskunova and Vladislav Novobritsky made reports at the conference.
Ilia Shushpanov became an expert of the section “Relay Protection and Emergency Automation”:
“INRTU is a regular participant of this conference. The event attracts talented young people and can be called a key event in the field of electric power engineering.
At the conference we were actively networking and joined the discussion on attracting young specialists to science. We also learned about the interest in scientific developments of such large companies as RTSoft, Relematics and the All-Russian Research Institute of Radio Equipment”.
Alexander Kryukov's report was devoted to the consideration of reactive power compensation units when modeling electromagnetic influences of traction networks on pipelines (research supervisor - Professor Konstantin Suslov).
“The paper is based on the materials of my future PhD thesis. I am studying the threats of high voltages for the operating personnel of pipelines transporting oil and gas. The report was highly appreciated by experts.
Within the framework of the forum I managed to visit the Kochubeyevskaya wind farm, which is considered to be the largest in Russia.
For the first time I participated in the conference “Electric Power Engineering in the Eyes of Youth” in 2019, when it was held on the venue of INRTU. One of the organizers of the event then was Vadim Valentinovich Fedchishin. He was also a permanent member of the program committee,” says the student.
Currently, Alexander Kryukov is actively involved in the preparation of his thesis and works as an assistant at the Department of Electric Power Plants, Networks and Systems.
Victoria Piskunova, a PhD student of INRTU, presented the concept of the system of data collection and processing of monitoring cyber-physical system of a thermal power plant (research supervisor - Director of the School of Power Engineering Ekaterina Samarkina).
Vladislav Novobritsky in his paper considered the use of reverse sequence current protection for transit power lines. He prepared his scientific work under the guidance of Denis Fedosov, Head of the Department of Electric Power Plants, Networks and Systems.
