INRTU and Service TechnoProm Team Up to Develop Eco-Friendly Technologies for the Mining

INRTU and Service TechnoProm LLC have agreed to expand cooperation on the development and serial production of equipment for mining and processing enterprises. The university and the company plan to manufacture screens, intensive cyanidation modules, and a coal desorption system. The parties signed the agreement in late September during the Baikal Ecological Congress.

Service TechnoProm (STP LLC) was founded more than 10 years ago by graduates of INRTU’s Department of Automation and Control. STP manufactures equipment and components for mining and processing enterprises. The company draws on the expertise and experience of INRTU specialists in developing technical documentation and new equipment models, including centrifugal concentrators and drones for mineral deposit monitoring.

In September 2026, INRTU and STP LLC joined the first industrial cluster in the Angara region for the production of mining and processing equipment.

INRTU Rector Mikhail Korniakov and company director Nikita Kiselev took part in the signing ceremony.

According to Mikhail Korniakov, INRTU and Service TechnoProm are jointly implementing projects that make mineral extraction more environmentally friendly and safer. This is especially important for the Baikal region.

As Nikita Kiselev noted, the agreement means continuing the university and company’s long-standing strategic partnership. Service TechnoProm is expanding its equipment range and capacity, so it hopes for support from INRTU’s designers and scientists.

“Our technologies allow a more environmentally friendly approach to raw material processing. The result is gangue, without stockpiling unprocessed ore in tailings storage facilities.
Every department at INRTU has exceptional experts in its field. At the Department of Mineral Processing and Environmental Protection, we carry out research and design work. We actively involve students in paid internships with competitive salaries and fund R&D ptojects,” said Nikita Kiselev.

The agreement is complemented by a comprehensive research and development program for 2026-2030, which includes development work on equipment design for the processing industry, including the GSD820 screen, the CC-175 centrifugal concentrator, and the ACACIA 10000 intensive cyanidation module. The implementation stages involve pilot testing, certification, and serial production of the equipment.

As part of the R&D, scientists will also develop and test methodologies, technical control instruments, and recommendations for improving the quality of product manufacturing. The university’s Design and Technology Bureau, headed by Pavel Grishkevich, will be responsible for this work.

Associate Professor Alexander Burdonov’s team will take on R&D for gravity processing and the development of an integrated high-temperature coal desorption system.

In addition, the agreement governs joint personnel training to meet market needs, testing and implementation of innovations, development of new research and educational projects, and organization of internship programs for university and company staff.
