Life in BS BRICS is boring? Not at all!
My name is Bian Yufei. But I’d love you call me Bella. I’m a 4th-year student in BS BRICS INRTU that major in international business. Besides, I crossed the Pacific Ocean from China to Siberia for studying and exploring Russian in a distant and mysterious region. My life here is unpredictably interesting and full of meaning. Let me share my extraordinary journey.
There is no exact adjective that can accurately describe life here, and I mean that in a positive way. Especially in academic communication of exchanges, attending museums, participating in dance programs, being a Chinese teacher.
Firstly, I got an opportunity to participate a conference for educational sharing in the Baikal State University, which did I get closer to Russian-style education. I really appreciate that the thickness of the expertise. I could feel the respect and reverence for the culture was stronger than I think. At that moment, I really enjoyed the vibe there, which can I exchange the thinking not only from China, but also from different countries.
After that, we as the foreigners had chance to invite the museum, which was called “Taltsy” and Lake Baikal. Even though I visited Lake Baikal in 2019, I was once again blown away by the grandeur of the world's deepest lake. So great that feeds so many living creatures from nature.
Thirdly, I participanted the dancing activity, which shows the dance of a unique Chinese nation. We are lucky that brought national costumes from China. When the national festival came and we showed the Chinese national culture dance to everyone, most of us are not professional, but it was so impressed that hard to forget.
Last but not least, it’s fortunate that got opportunity to teach Chinese. I found that people here were open and friendly to Chinese language and got interested in Chinese culture. I thought they were young but they could understand another eastern culture and tried to explore deeply. Just like me, but in different country.
Anyway, such long journey made me feel like imagination, but true. As saying goes well, “In this world, everyone has one thing equally, and that is - time.” Each of us has 24 hours a day, 1440 minutes a day. But how to maximize its use is what we need to do. I am lucky to spend my 24 hours a day in Irkutsk, Russia right now. Every day I go to face fresh and brand new air, the air that brings me luck and confidence to face life. In the future days, I will continue to explore this interesting journey in college with courage and curiosity. Make it maximize.
