INRTU and Harbin Finance University (China) Signed Academic Exchange Agreement

INRTU and the Harbin Finance University (China) on 23 December signed an agreement on academic exchange. The document was signed by INRTU Rector Mikhail Kornyakov and Rector of Harbin Finance University Zhang Lin.

The meeting at INRTU was also attended by the Vice-Rector for Research, Alexander Kononov, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Vladimir Smirnov, the Head of the International Affairs Department, Anna Melentieva, and the Rector's Advisor for International Affairs, Xia Shuang. The Chinese delegation included Sui Xin, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange.

Mikhail Kornyakov noted that the INRTU students were impressed by the visit to the Harbin Finance University:

"Based on the results of our visit to your university, we have planned to launch exchange programs for students, teachers and scientists. We also consider joint research and participation in grants, as well as the creation of joint educational programs as promising."

According to Alexander Kononov, Vice-Rector for Research, it is important to find common ground not only between universities, but also with other potential partners interested in joint projects.

Zhang Lin, Rector of Harbin Finance University, thanked INRTU for the warm welcome and said that next year five Chinese students would be ready to come and study at INRTU. He also approved plans to exchange teachers and researchers. According to Zhang Lin, in order to receive joint scholarships, it is necessary to prepare and to review a list of studies in the field of finance, insurance, which can be implemented by the staff of INRTU and Harbin Finance University.

The signed agreement includes the exchange of bachelor and master students and the mutual recognition of credits. The number of exchange students is five per academic year. The parties agreed on mutual exemption from tuition fees and equal number of students. Meals, accommodation, transport and international health insurance during the exchange period will be paid for by the students.

The first five students from Harbin Finance University will study in various fields at the Baikal School of BRICS in 2024.
