Kangwon National University traditionally invites INRTU-students to participate in Online Summer Program — 2022

About KNU

Kangwon National University (KNU) is one of the 10 core national universities in the Republic of Korea. With a history of over 70 years, KNU has been making sincere efforts to respond to the rapidly-changing global era. KNU’s main campus is located in Chuncheon, the capital city of Gangwon province. As a regional stronghold university, KNU has also been endeavoring to concentrate creative ideas and resources on local communities and the regional industries. KNU has 129 departments in both undergraduate and graduate programs. KNU has more than 22,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs, including 1,026 international students. KNU has more than 2,500 academic faculty members. Particularly, KNU has been actively participating in various international development cooperation activities with many countries, including Russia.

In June, 2017 the Memorandum of understanding was signed between INRTU and KNU. Since that time INRTU-students have had an opportunity to visit Korean partner-university on exchange program for 1 semester or full academic year or participate in the annual summer programs of KNU and learn more about this country.

Online Summer Program of KNU — 2022

The program is for those students who are interested in South Korea and its culture.

Joining the «2022 KNU Online Summer Program» will be a great opportunity to learn more about Korea and communicate with international students through a Korean language class, special lectures, and cultural exchanges with participants in other nations.

This program provides foreign students from partner — universities with an enriching cultural and educational experience for two weeks in the summer session. Invited students can interact with enrolled students of KNU.

Among sagnificant benefits of participating the following ones can be given:

Earning 2 university credits and tuition exemption

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled in a KNU-partner university undergraduate program
  • Proficient in English and interested in Korean language and culture

Curriculum

Dates: July 18–29, 2022

Time: 1pm -5:30pm on weekdays [ Korean Standard Time ]

Study plan consists of different types of activities:

  • Korean Language Class (it is for beginners and will be taught in English)
  • Special Lecture
  • Cultural Exchange
  • Discussion with International Students

Important note:

Lectures will be offered in English on Zoom.

Students will get an online application link from KNU after nomination letter from INRTU. (room — И-205, International office)

All students are required to participate diligently in all lectures and programs.

Students may apply for a 'Culture Day' presentation if they want to introduce a native country or show their talent.
