The team of Geological Exploration Technical School is the leader of the regional tournament in ball hockey
The ball hockey team from INRTU Geological Exploration Technical School won the tournament among the colleges of the Priangarie region. The competition was held on February 16 as a part of the 15th Regional Spartakiad "Youth Sports League - Youth of Russia"
Nine teams from the colleges of Irkutsk, Svirsk, Angarsk and Zalari played against each other on the ice of Irkutsk Zenit stadium.
The project was organized by the Irkutsk Technical School of Aviation Engineering and Material Processing with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Priangarie region, the Olympic Reserve School "Olympian", the Irkut-Zenith Center and OOO Vecherneye.
"Sea Breeze" from Irkutsk Technical School of River and Automobile Transport won the second place in the tournament. The third place went to "Movement", a team of Angarsk Industrial Technical School.
The polytech team included students Valery Kachinsky, Ivan Vorobyov, Konstantin Nasonov, Konstantin Bernik, Denis Chubenko, Kirill Bekasov, Pavel Badmaev and Maxim Gorovoy. All players from Geological Exploration Technical School team also play for hockey clubs in the region, including Irkutsk Polytech, Sibskana, and others.
The best players were determined during the tournament. One of them, sophomore Valery Kachinsky, plays for Irkutsk Polytech for the second season.
According to Valery, the Polytech team won four games in a row at the regional competition:
"I managed to score six goals and make two assists. National team hockey players do not train together and do not play regularly together. However, we were able to show real teamwork in the competition."Konstantin Nasonov scored more than 10 goals. The student is studying oil and gas drilling at the technical school.
"We played all four games without any remarks; we tried to attack our opponents from the first minutes. I play first season for "Irkutsk Polytech". I became a silver medalist of the Championship of the Student Ball Hockey League as a part of the team", - said Konstantin.The student added that he has been playing ball hockey for 11 years. His father, the legendary player of "Baikal-Energy" Aleksandr Nasonov, is an example to him.
