Nikita Malyshev, a graduate of INRTU, and Anastasia Rostovtseva, an entrepreneur, launched «Baikal Cosmos» clothing collection
A graduate of INRTU, graffiti artist Nikita Malyshev and the owner of A.CLEO brand Anastasia Rostovtseva launched a clothing collection in Irkutsk. The result of the collaboration were stylish T-shirts created with the help of hand-painted, DTF-printing and the nature of Lake Baikal. Products are already in demand among residents of Irkutsk and St. Petersburg
Nikita Malyshev, who graduated INRTU in 2021, is a well-rounded and creative person. He teaches children the art of graffiti, creates typeface compositions and supergraphics, using an excavation tool. Irkutsk residents know him as the author of a panel dedicated to doctors who fought the pandemic, The facade of the infectious diseases hospital is decorated with it now. The designer decorated the interiors of the company "Engineering Coffee”, - combining graffiti fonts and bas-relief.
In 2023 he was looking for local brands that would be interested in creative cooperation. Anastasia Rostovtseva from Irkutsk responded to the initiative – the founder of the sewing workshop of the clothing and textile store A.CLEO. Coincidentally, she couldn't find a suitable designer of women's clothing for a long time. According to Nikita, the brand attracted him with its positioning, besides, the color palette of A.CLEO's things in many ways was close with his works.
"Nastya is ready to experiment, to try something new and extraordinary. At the first meeting, I took out a couple of drawings so that she would have an understanding of who I am and what I am creating. As a result, she was interested in my work. After four months of sketchy searches and painstaking organizational work, a series of T-shirts appeared”,- Nikita tells about the history of the project.
Prints from the series of works "Controlled Chaos" made on thick paper became the foundation of the theme of future design. Thanks to the project, Nikita was previously the leader at the “Voice of the Streets” festival. In abstract drawings, according to Reiter, a variety of fonts and letter outlines, bright bold lines are read. The collection, called "Baikal Cosmos", was supplemented with the legend of the five constellations, "illuminating the path of night wanderers who are in search of happiness." The constellations received sonorous names – Sarma, Depth, Purity, Truth and Radiance. Marketer Sayana Baturova joined the creative tandem. It was she who created the legend and philosophy of collaboration, and also helped with the textual presentation of the concept.
The presentation of the collection took place at the end of July in the A.CLEO store (40 Gagarin Boulevard). On this day, many friends of authors, media personalities, including bloggers and employees of MCM radio gathered.
As Anastasia Rostovtseva noted, the project was successful. The main evience of this is high sales:
"Nikita and I worked well together, as they say, we were "on the same wavelength." T-shirts are in great demand. Visitors have already purchased about 40 pieces, all the items from the limited series have been sold out."
Nikita added that Baikal Cosmos is not just a new project, but also a way to attract attention to the promotion of local brands, an opportunity to remember your roots and confess your love for the motherland.
