INRTU Students Win Awards at the International Russian Language Olympiad
Students fr om the Preparatory Course of the Department of Russian Language Didactics at INRTU won prizes in several categories at the 12th International Russian as a Foreign Language Olympiad “We Speak Russian”.
Zhang Yinshuo won first place in the “My Favorite Poem in Russian” recitation contest with Tatyana Kalganova’s poem “Four Lives”. Riley Leighton-Rohn Romario took third place in the same category with Maria Kolesnik’s poem “Dream, Kind People, Dream”.
Zhao Peiyi also won third place in the “The City Wh ere I Study” video postcard competition. In her entry, she talked about studying in Russia, life in Irkutsk, her international group of classmates, and learning Russian.
The students were coached for the Olympiad by Natalia Tolstikova, a lecturer at the Department of Russian Language Didactics. She said that achievements like these are an important source of motivation for both students and teachers:
“It is especially rewarding to see the results of your work. Student success inspires everyone. It encourages learners to move forward and motivates teachers to do even more to support their interest in the Russian language and Russian culture”.
Head of the Department of Russian Language Didactics Alla Antonova noted that this is not the first time this year INRTU students have won prizes in Russian as a Foreign Language competitions:
“These achievements reflect the students’ strong motivation, hard work, and genuine interest in Russian language and culture. I would also like to recognize the professionalism of the Department’s teachers. We can see that consistent preparation and individual attention to each student lead to excellent results”.
The 12th International Russian as a Foreign Language Olympiad “We Speak Russian” was organized by the Faculty of International Education and the Department of Russian Language and General Theoretical Disciplines at Tambov State Technical University.
