INRTU invites students and designers to the international exhibition and forum

INRTU invites students and artists to participate in the International Design Forum on Baikal and the exhibition “Attention!!! Vystavcom!”. The program will also include a conference, a round table, workshops on fashion illustration, fired enamel technique workshop, stone cutting and jewelry making. Applications are open till September 10

The events are organized by the regional branch of the Union of Designers of Russia, headed by INRTU Associate Professor Elena Berman. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Irkutsk Region, INRTU, the Regional Art Museum, JSC "Baikalkvartssamotsvety" and the regional branch of the Union of Artists of Russia.

According to Elena Berman, both events are dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Irkutsk regional branch of the Union of Designers of Russia and the Year of the Teacher and Mentor in Russia.

The main purpose of the event to promote Russian design, to improve the quality of industry education, to build human resources and to develop mentorship. The forum and the exhibition will bring together professional designers, industrialists, teachers and students of creative specialties from Russia, China, Israel, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus. They will present their product, graphic, environmental, ethnic, jewelry, collectible and fashion design projects.

The business program starts with the plenary session “The current state and prospects of design education” on September 28 at 10:00 am at INRTU. The opening ceremony of the exhibition and forum will begin at 16:00 at the Regional Art Museum named after V.P. Sukachev.

A round table for teachers and representatives of specialized enterprises, as well as the conference to discuss the latest trends in design and technologies for the artistic processing of materials will be held in INRTU as the largest interactive platform.

INRTU will also host workshops on fashion illustration, fired enamel making, stone-cutting and jewelry art on September 30, October 7, 14 and 21.

In addition, guests will be able to visit the manufacturing workshops of the stone-cutting enterprise "Baikalkvartssamotsvety" and the Mineralogical Museum named after A.V. Sidorov, located at INRTU. The program will also include trips to the ethnographic museum of Taltsy and the Baikal Museum of the SB RAS.

The works of the awarded participants of the forum and the exhibition will be included in a full-color printed catalog. Conference materials will be published in the RSCI collection. Texts of reports are accepted until September 10 by e-mail iro.sdr.design@gmail.com

Registration to the forum and the exhibition as well as to the student conference is available online till September 10, 2023 for both intramural and extramural participants. The organizing committee kindly requests you to attach your own photo along with the photos of your contest works for their placement in the exhibition catalogue.
