The Student's Tour of Opening Day in Our University INRTU
Hi! My name is Wenda Waipo. I am fr om Indonesia, West Papua. January 21th was the Opening Day at INRTU with the presentations of the institutes, two master classes and a university tour. It was an unforgettable day, which is the first day to reach out and ask about the main programs, and student life skills such as photographs, theaters, sports, libraries, workgroups room, canteens, cafe, and others.
In very cold weather around minus 36c in Siberia, Irkutsk honestly it was not like to get out of bed as a foreign student. But we were invited by our teachers to participate and tour in university activities so we had to go to university. All the students were welcomed hearty by our beautiful teachers Nataliia Petrova, Irina Zolotareva, Natalia Goy and the Director of the Department of Humanities Latysheva Svetlana and one volunteer at the main building. Temporarily presenting the main programs of each faculty, thundering instrumental music, brought our thought to the motivation, innovation, and creativity for the greatly future.
First of all, we were joined by other international students. The volunteer accompanied us with explanations and showed us wh ere we may put our winter jackets and wh ere is the canteen, it was helpful. Then we were shown the library, it is very comfortable, with books and places to study. With the impression we watched short movies in the assembly hall, which is a student performance video.
There after we greeted a student's group dance named “Sasha dance”, shoes pat dance, applause and escorted drums making our bodies sway on their own. It was amazing! After that we took photos together.
For a while we went to sports clubs. The manager of sport explained to us that “Most of the 22 groups sport in INRTU, such as; futsal, boxing, photographs and more. Each student was welcomed to join according to their talent. If you want it but you cannot do it, every coach group will teach you how to do it”. I was interested in it, because I really wanted to join the photography and futsal club. What's great about a university sport club? Many charters are achieved from every sport competition.
While asking our own self about the sport club, we approach the coffee and workgroup. We visited the Boiling Point coworking and the Student Initiatives coworking. It was very charming for the students how they were able to discuss and help each one. Honestly, I admired studying at INRTU, specifically computer and artificial intelligence.
Lastly we came back to the main building to take brochures every faculty provided and took photos. Special thanks and love to our teachers and all University staff organizing everything for us. Warm thanks to the volunteer for leading us and helping us to know more about University.
