Vietnamese students from Irkutsk universities celebrated the Eastern New Year in INRTU

Vietnamese students and postgraduates celebrated the main family holiday in INRTU - Tet or New Year according to the lunar calendar.

The celebration was attended by representatives of the Vietnamese diaspora who are receiving education at Irkutsk Polytechnic University,  ISTU named after A.A. Yezhevsky and Baikal State University.

17 citizens of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam study at INRTU. Since 2010, the university has trained about 300 specialists for this state. Vietnamese study Russian and receive higher engineering education, which is highly appreciated in Asia.

Tet is the most long-awaited event in Vietnam, a symbol of spring and renewal of life. In 2022, it is celebrated on February 1. The year of the Blue Water Tiger will come in the East on this day.

On the eve of the holiday, on January 29, Vietnamese students of Irkutsk gathered on Campus. Due to the pandemic, the event was held in a cozy atmosphere. Traditional dishes have become the decoration of the New Year's table.

Students and postgraduates presented gifts to each other at the celebration.  The evening continued with karaoke, a favorite pastime in Vietnam.
