Exchange program at Wroclaw Univerysity of Science and Technology: students from BS of BRICS share their unforgettable experience

The INRTU students of the BS of BRICS studied at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Poland) in frame of the exchange program for a semester.

During this period the students Anton Zamashchikov, Alexei Lomay and Ivan Rogachev mastered Environmental Engineering. Alice Resnick was a management student. At the Polish university they mastered disciplines related to those that taught at BS of BRICS.
They knew the information about the exchange program from Stepan Popov, who was an exchange student in 2021/2022 academic year.
The students specialize in «Sustainable Innovative Economy» and «Environmental Engineering and Clean Energy». Alice Reznick finished the semester with honors, passing four credits and exams. At Wrocław University of Science and Technology she improved her competence in the Basics of Communication in Management and learned how to organize business processes in the European market.

«Foreign teaching methods are quite different from ours. At the beginning of the semester, the teacher suggests choosing topics for presentation. Learning is based on self-tuition — we listen to the reports of our classmates and ask questions. The task of the lecturer is to help you master the topic and give additional information. I studied in multinational group, which helped me expand my horizons and improve my English speaking skills. I’m glad, that I had such an experience studying at one of the best universities in Poland», Alice says.

Now the groupmates Anton Zamashchikov, Alexei Lomay and Ivan Rogachev are the fourth year students. In Poland they studied such disciplines as Renewable Energy Sources, Electrical Devices, Electric Power and other engineering disciplines.

According to Anton Zamaschikov, many of the courses at the Polish university are oriented toward postgraduates, so exchange students had to overcome some difficulties:

«However, we managed to pass most of the exams with „good“ marks. We attended classes together with the students from Africa, Italy, Belarus and Poland, and we still maintain friendly relations with them.
Representatives of large technology companies used to attend „classes“. During one of these classes I discovered the rapid development of environmental engineering in Africa.

In the Western education system everyone chooses the courses of his or her choice, and it’s up to you to determine what knowledge you will get. It is possible to complete final tests and quizzes successfully without attending  the lectures. This methodology allows students to become more conscious and independent».

Before the trip to Poland, Anton Zamashchikov knew English at the B2 level. He managed to improve his language skills to the level — C1.
In Wroclaw students lived in a comfortable dormitory and paid 10,000 rubles per month (without utilities).

Polytechnic students had the chance to see the beauty sights and architecture of Wroclaw, Warsaw. They visited Prague, the capital of the neighboring country.
