Students of Baikal School of BRICS are winners of the interregional English Language Competition among students of technical universities and colleges

The students of Baikal School of BRICS successfully participated in the interregional online English Language Competition among the students of technical universities and colleges. More than a thousand students were interested in the intellectual tournament. The project was organised by the Siberian State University of Science and Technology named after Academician M.F. Reshetnyov (Krasnoyarsk).

The competition was held in the online format and consisted of three levels. In the course of the competition the students had to solve lexical and grammatical tests as well as successfully complete the reading, listening and writing phases. The organisers gave a maximum of 25 minutes for each round.

The participants also had to watch a video and answer questions. The creative test was a monologue-commentary on a suggested topic.

Donara Kachkova, freshman of Baikal School of BRICS successfully participated in the interregional online English language сompetition among the students of technical universities and colleges. More than a thousand students were interested in the intellectual tournament. The project was organised by the Siberian State University of Science and Technology named after Academician M.F. Reshetnyov (Krasnoyarsk). took the first place with 86 points, which is much more than the score of other contestants. First-year student Alina Svetova won third place.

Sophomore Timofey Shevchuk, who studies international business at BS BRICS, scored over 110 points, becoming the winner of the intellectual tournament.

"We were given interesting tasks to solve. For example, the words 'family' and 'media' were given, from which we had to come up with a monologue on the topic of cultural identity. I also did well in the speaking and listening tours. I started studying English in the 10th grade at school No. 14 in Irkutsk. In such a short period of time I managed to make considerable progress in mastering a foreign language. At BS BRICS I am interested in management-related disciplines and am improving my English skills," said the student.

The winners of the Internet competition were awarded electronic diplomas as well as certificates of participation.
