More and more students get acquainted with the Lake Baikal

On November 26 and 27, several groups of students of the preparatory department of INRTU visited Taltsy and Listvyanka, where they were able to enjoy the beauty of nature of our region

Despite the snowy weather that made adjustments to the program, all participants were delighted with the trip. The students from Africa were especially excited about the snow, for whom it was something truly new and unusual. They enjoyed spending the day outdoors in the company of their classmates, friends and teachers.

The teachers also enjoyed the trip and were happy to have the opportunity to get to know their students better and share a part of our culture with them. Here is what Anastasia Vladimirovna Yelikova, teacher of the preparatory department, writes about the trip:

«We woke up in a snowy fairy tale; the whole city was covered with a fluffy blanket! Besides the beauty, of course, it brought problems on the roads, and after all, my students and I had a long-awaited trip to Baikal planned! Putting aside all doubts and fears, we set off. Already on the road we were struck by the sight of the snowy forest. Spruce and pine trees were bending under the weight of the snow cover. Most of the guys saw snow for the first time, and in such quantity it amazed even us, native Siberians. As soon as we approached the village of Listvyanka, we had a view of the slightly gloomy, but so majestic lake Baikal!»

«In Listvyanka we walked around, played snowballs, threw stones in the water, bought a lot of souvenirs, had lunch in a cafe and tasted the favorite dishes of the locals. Then we went on our way back on a comfortable bus of our university! This day will always remain in our memory as one of the most vivid for the whole period of study, because we saw the majestic Baikal for the first time! Many thanks to the management of our university for such a wonderful trip,» – writes one of the students about their trip.

Of course, this is not the last time our students will go on an excursion, moreover, many of them will visit Baikal for the first time. And that's why you should keep following our news to stay up to date!
