INRTU Students Oleg Moshkirev and Mikhail Stabel Became Masters of Sports of Russia in Boxing

INRTU students Oleg Moshkirev and Mikhail Stabel have been awarded the title of "Master of Sports of Russia" in boxing. The corresponding decree was signed by the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin.

The INRTU students fulfilled the standards of Master of Sports at the All-Russian Baikal-2023 competitions in memory of Olympic champion V.K. Safronov and Olympic silver medalist V.I. Barannikov. Boxers from 22 regions took part in the large-scale tournament held in Ulan-Ude last summer.

Oleg and Mikhail have been boxing since childhood, they are multiple winners and medalists in competitions of various levels. At INRTU Oleg Moshkirev masters automation of technological processes, Mikhail Stabel studies at the School of Subsurface Resource Management. Both athletes train under the guidance of Pavel Kirik and Alexander Demidov, INRTU coaches of the highest qualification category.

According to Pavel Kirik, the students showed themselves worthy at the competitions in Ulan-Ude:

"For the title it was necessary to lead in three fights. There were strong opponents in their weight categories, but our boys showed the will to win."

Now the INRTU boxers are preparing for the regional championship. It will be held on January 30 in Irkutsk. Based on the results of this tournament, they will form the national team of the Irkutsk Region, which will take part in the All-Russian competitions in Chita on February 18-25.

"In March our students will go to the championship of the Siberian Federal District. Then we will start serious preparation for the Russian Championship in boxing among men," - Pavel Kirik revealed his plans.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation has awarded the title of "Master of Sports of Russia" to six other Irkutsk citizens who are engaged in bowling, jiu-jitsu, athletics, and powerlifting.
