INRTU Launched Modern Student Co-working Hub: “Tochka Prityazheniya” (Focal Point)
On November 21, the INRTU Scientific and Technical Library officially opened a modern, multi-functional space named “Tochka Prityazheniya” (Focal Point). This innovative project serves not only as a hub for student activities and personal growth but also as a vital cultural and intellectual resource for the entire city.
Created with the support of the Rosmolodezh.Grants state program, “Tochka Prityazheniya” offers a contemporary environment for study, work, and socialization. The space provides ideal conditions for students to bring their ideas to life, prepare for classes, and spend their time productively.
INRTU Vice-Rector for Youth Policy, Daria Lobanova, noted that opening the space required significant effort and financial resources.
“We did it! I would like to emphasize that our entire university team was involved in this project. Everyone contributed: designers created the furniture, students selected the artwork, and various university departments handled the renovations. I especially want to thank the library staff for supporting our initiative and their readiness to breathe new life into this project,”
said Daria Lobanova.
Special attention was paid to technology. The tech zone features high-performance computers designed for research, academic writing, and assignments. All devices are connected to the university’s online library, allowing for efficient access to source materials. Additionally, a comfortable co-working zone for teamwork and independent study has been established. Equipped with ergonomic desks and whiteboards, it offers an ideal environment for brainstorming and project development. ‘Tochka Prityazheniya’ also includes a spacious amphitheater with a stage and projector, perfectly suited for lectures, master classes, and roundtables.
Yulia Poletaeva, Director of the INRTU Scientific and Technical Library, emphasized that “Tochka Prityazheniya” is a significant public space for the wider community.
“We needed a space that combines knowledge and leisure. We are ready for transformation and strive to keep up with the times. Our doors are open not only to the university’s students and staff but to all residents of Irkutsk. Anyone can visit us, become a member, or organize their own event,”
she said.
The launch of this new space is a major contribution to student life at INRTU, offering a venue for creativity, learning, and connection. It will enable students to realize their full potential and strengthen inter-university cooperation, enhancing the university’s appeal as a modern educational center.
