INRTU and Christian University of Indonesia signed MOU

On May 4, 2023 INRTU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Vladimir Smirnov and Rector of the Christian University of Indonesia Dr. Dhaniswara K. Harjono signed the agreements via video conferencing.

Vladimir Smirnov thanked his Indonesian colleagues for the warm reception of the INRTU delegation in March 2023. 

"Thanks to this meeting, today we have the opportunity to give a start to the strategic alliance between our universities. We hope that the cooperation will be long-term and become successful and fruitful. INRTU is a classical engineering university and the only one among Universities of Eastern Siberia that has entered the global ranking of Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, taking a position of 300-400 in the world.

We are aware of the ever-growing needs of the global community, thus giving priority in our research and educational programs to such areas as environmental sustainability, aircraft and mechanical engineering, energy efficiency, energy conservation, information technology, and others.

There are 17 thousand students studying at INRTU in Russian and in English, and we are glad that 24 of them are students from Indonesia." 

The Vice-Rector believes that the joint activities of the two universities will contribute to the formation of a favorable academic environment to meet the challenges of the international educational community.

Rector of the Christian University of Indonesia Dr. Dhaniswara K. Harjono supported her Russian colleague and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation.

Prospective areas of cooperation between INRTU and the Christian University of Indonesia are outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding. In addition to exchanges of students and professors, joint research activities, participation in seminars and scientific meetings, joint cultural programs, exchange of publications, joint research grants, etc. are expected.

The universities also plan to sign an agreement on student exchange in the near future. According to this agreement, each of the universities will be able to send their undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students to study at a partner university within the student exchange for 1 or 2 semesters free of charge.

As part of the signing ceremony, the Christian University of Indonesia held a joint online seminar on artificial intelligence. On the side of INRTU, Professor Aleksandr Afanasev, head of the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, made a report on "Trends in Artificial Intelligence. On the side of the Christian University of Indonesia, Leonard Lisapali, professor and head of the master's program in electrical engineering, spoke on a similar topic.

REFERENCE: The Christian University of Indonesia (UKI, Universitas Kristen Indonesia) is a private institution of higher education located in Jakarta. It was founded on October 15, 1953, and offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degree programs. The university has two campuses. The Rector of the University is Dhaniswara K. Harjono, M.D., M.B.A.

UKI is ranked 155th in Indonesia (UniRank 2023). The university offers exchange students the following majors: business and economics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, IT, architecture and civil engineering.
