Unique equipment for PJSC "Il" - Aviastar (Ulyanovsk) was created by employees of the Irkutsk Polytechnic University

A unique installation for shaping and straightening by rolling rollers (UFP-1) of wing parts of a heavy military transport aircraft IL-76MD-90A was created by employees of the Institute of Aircraft Engineering and Transport of INRTU.

In December 2021, the equipment was supplied and put into production by PJSC "Il" - Aviastar (Ulyanovsk) LLC "Engineering Center" Polytech-Irkut ".

One of the contractors for the manufacture of the UFP-1 plant, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Technology and Equipment for Engineering Industries, Alexander Pashkov, said that the most complex, critical and expensive parts in the design of aircraft are monolithic bypass panels reinforced with ribs.

“The main problems in the production of panels are associated with the high complexity and laboriousness of the implementation of the shaping operation. At most domestic enterprises, the shaping of panels is carried out by the method of free bending on hydraulic presses.

When introducing the installation at the plant, we processed a warhead 12 meters long and demonstrated the technological capabilities of the installation. Also conducted training of the company's personnel. The factory workers highly appreciated our equipment. In general, the project turned out to be very interesting,” - said Alexander Pashkov.
