The team of INRTU "Lamers" will perform in the final of the RISC Information Security Case Championship
The qualifying round for the V RISC 2022 Information Security Case Championship, held on February 7-28, has ended. More than 130 teams from 25 cities of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan sent applications for participation in the anniversary tournament. According to the organizers, this is a kind of record, indicating the growing popularity of RISC.
According to the head of the Cybersecurity Competence Center of the School of Information Technology and Data Analysis Alexander Chumilin, only six teams made it to the final of the competition, one of which represents INRTU - "Lamers". The polytechnic team consists of students studying the program of "Information Security".
The teams "Growth" and "Indestructible" from Krasnoyarsk, "System Workers" from Kaliningrad and "Baobabs" from Zelenograd will also perform at the final of the V RISC case Championship. In addition, the team from Kazakhstan "Kryptonite" (Nur-Sultan) made it to the final.
The competition will be organized in the on-line format on March 6. For a limited time (two hours), participants need to find a solution to the case and defend it in front of the jury.
As Alexander Chumilin notes, the information security case championship is a one-of-a-kind event for undergraduates and graduate students, which takes place in the case-study (or situational analysis) format. The main objective of the tournament is the formation of practical skills and experience in solving real problems for future information security specialists.
During the championship, teams solve cases taken from the practice of Russian and foreign specialists. RISC is an opportunity to check how well students have mastered the theory and whether they are ready to face real security problems in the organization.
