INRTU international student from Egypt got the grand prize at "Student Spring" festival
"Student Spring" festival was held at INRTU on April 15.
The festival is supported by the government of Irkutsk region, the regional branch of the Youth Union and the Council of Rectors.
The creative project is dedicated to the Year of Cultural Heritage of the peoples of Russia, the 85th anniversary of the Irkutsk region, as well as the anniversaries of writers, Valentin Rasputin and Alexander Vampilov. Moreover, in 2022 the All-Russian Festival "Student Spring" will be 30 years old.
Mahmoud Amr Mohamed, foreign student fr om Egypt, took part in this festival with a music performance as a member of of the "Ethnobit" drumming team.
Mahmoud Amr Mohamed shared his impressions with us:
I participated "Student Spring" festival in the instrumental performance category. I played Mozart’s composition on the Egyptian Goblet drum. I have been playing Goblet drum for 4 years already.
When I came to Irkutsk, I found out that INRTU has a drumming team "Ethnobit" in the Center of Cultural and Educational Work. I really liked the work of this drumming band and decided to meet its leader, Natalya Vlasevskaya, who asked me to join the band, and I continued to practice my favorite form of art under the direction of Natalya Vlasevskaya.
I willingly agreed to take part in the "Student Spring" festival. Together with Natalya Nikolaevna we chose a melody composed by Mozart for the soundtrack. This music is very beautiful, touching and, in addition, is very popular.
We went to the contest with the whole "Ethnobit" team, I helped the guys with the drums.
I really enjoyed listening to the other musicians, who played tunes on guitar, accordion, violin, and piano.
I think the drummers of Ethnobit are very talented and distinctive, and their work is at a fairly high level.
I was very nervous during the Gala Concert on April 21, wh ere the winners were awarded. I was very interested to hear the results of the competition.
I was surprised and very happy to hear my name at the awards ceremony, I got the grand prize!
