Staff of the Laboratory of Photofunctional Materials of INRTU and A.E. Favorsky Irkutsk Institute of Chemistry SB RAS Delivered Presentations at a Conference in Yerevan

Staff of the Laboratory of Photofunctional Materials of INRTU and A.E. Favorsky Irkutsk Institute of Chemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences took part in the representative scientific conference on organic chemistry "New Emerging Trends in Chemistry" (NewTrendsChem-2025), which was held from September 21 to 25 in Yerevan.

The organizers of the scientific forum were the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, the Scientific Technological Center of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Yerevan State University, and the N.D. Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

As the scientific supervisor of the laboratory, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Andrey Lvov, emphasized, this event brought together leading specialists from around the world in the fields of organic chemistry, catalysis, medical chemistry, and materials chemistry.

“Seven staff members of our laboratory participated in the conference. Postgraduate students Yumzhana Bolotova, Anna Fayzdrakhmanova, and master's students Igor Poltavtsev and Rustam Shnigirev presented oral reports.

Posters were presented by postgraduate students Vasily Bykov and Andrey Stepanov, and master's degree student Snezhana Kurmygina.

Andrey Stepanov and Yumzhana Bolotova received awards for the best poster and oral presentations, respectively. They presented their results obtained in the course of their dissertation work,”

said Andrey Lvov.

It should be noted that the research focus of Andrey Stepanov is related to the chemical modification of dihydroquercetin. Yumzhana Bolotova is studying a new class of water-soluble photoactive compounds.
