Rector Mikhail Korniakov presented a report on the INRTU development program for 2022 within the framework of the federal project "Priority 2030" at the session of the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk region
Rector of INRTU Mikhail Korniakov spoke at the 59th session of the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk region with a report on the implementation of INRTUdevelopment program for 2022 within the framework of the federal project "Priority 2030".
The meeting was attended by 43 deputies, as well as representatives of the regional government, the regional prosecutor's office, the electoral commission, the Ministry of Justice, the tax service and the Accounts Chamber.
In his report, Rector Mikhail Korniakov dwelled on the main results of the university's activities to meet the requirements of the "Priority 2030" Program. Among the key results that the university should achieve by 2030 are the increase in comprehensive R&D and involvement of students in real production projects, which should contribute to the training of highly qualified engineers and ensure import-independent industry of the region in the new economic conditions, increase labor productivity, product quality and reduce its cost.
In 2022, INRTU received 217 million rubles from the federal budget for the implementation of the development program, investing its own funds in the amount of 43 million rubles. During the reporting period, the university performed research and development work worth over 300 million rubles, trained new engineering staff for the region's industry, and began to form new digital competencies in students within the framework of the project "Digital Departments".
The Rector of the Irkutsk Polytechnic University told the parliamentarians that the university's first strategic project i.GeoDesign is aimed at developing and testing new business models of ore deposit discovery based on its own technologies and equipment. More than 50 percent of exploration projects implemented by the i.GeoDesign consortium were carried out in the Irkutsk region. The main efforts of polytechnics were aimed at reducing the geological exploration work cycle and its cost, which is achieved by using proprietary highly mobile technologies and involving a large number of students in the projects. As a result, students start early geological careers and gain professional experience in the geological industry.
Presenting the results of the second strategic project Digital Industrial Technologies Mikhail Kornyakov reminded that it is associated with the development of advanced production technologies and training of qualified personnel for the Russian industry in the fields of aircraft engineering, energy, construction. About 25 percent of the total amount of accomplished R&D work was carried out in the Irkutsk region.
The most significant projects in aviation and mechanical engineering are related to the creation of aircraft production technologies for the Irkut Corporation and other Russian aircraft manufacturing companies. Research and development projects are aimed at improving performance, accuracy and service life of the aircraft structure, as well as at making the industry import-independent in terms of tools and spare parts.
In the area of construction, R&D work was performed on the construction of the road bed from recycled waste of energy-metallurgical production, diagnostics of the condition of streets and roads with data input into GIS, development concepts for Baikalsk and Solzan settlement, as well as the design of state border facilities. These works will improve the ecological situation in the region by recycling industrial waste, optimize road maintenance costs and increase the attractiveness and tourist potential of the region.
Scientific research of the university staff in the field of transport planning is related to the development of traffic patterns, optimization of the route network and creation of the digital twin of the transport system of the Irkutsk agglomeration. The results are aimed at improving the quality of transport planning, traffic safety, the formation of a comfortable urban environment.
In the field of energy, projects on modeling of isolated energy systems for remote areas of the Irkutsk region, the analysis of modes of operation of power grids to ensure the quality of electricity, the development of power supply conditions for new types of consumers (mining companies) were carried out.
Concluding his speech, the rector stressed that the implementation of the INRTU development program under the federal project "Priority 2030" in 2022 has attracted more than 2.5 billion rubles in investments in the region. The Irkutsk Polytechnic University has created 48 new jobs for researchers, and employed over 150 students in projects. This year, the University won three federal competitions for the development of entrepreneurial skills among students. A startup studio and an entrepreneurial boiling point are being created at INRTU, and three acceleration programs have been launched.
Following the discussion, the deputies of the regional parliament took note of the information and also noted the special importance of the university in training technical specialists for the enterprises of the region.
