23 INRTU students expressed interest in the meeting of the club. During the event the participants were divided into teams, got acquainted with each other, played board games, and discussed the concept of educational games.
Aison Bayramova, a second-year student at School of Architecture, Construction and Design, attended a meeting of the club for the first time:
"I really liked this format. I had to leave my comfort zone and tried to communicate only in English. I think I managed quite well, even though I was short of vocabulary. The event was not only interesting and exciting, but also useful. I will try to attend meetings of Lingua Franca conversation club."
According to Tatiana Gorbunova, the topic of the meeting was not selected randomly:
"First of all, the experience of Summer Language School showed that students like to play educational board games. Such kind of activity allows overcoming the language barrier and increasing the vocabulary.
Secondly, the event was aimed to attract the interest in tabletop games and draw attention to Play it educational board games contest, which is held by School of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication from March 27 to April 19. We invite everyone to take part in this exciting event."
