Over A Thousand INRTU's Students Took Part in the Student Parade

The parade of students took place in the capital of the Angara Region on September 14. The event brought together 8 thousand people fr om 30 educational organizations. INRTU was the second largest among the participants of the large-scale parade and was represented by one thousand first-year students, 25 coordinators and 110 volunteers.

The event was organized by the Student Coordination Council (SCC) and the Ministry of Youth Policy of the Irkutsk Region within the framework of the federal project “Youth of Russia” of the national project “Education”. Support was provided by Rosmolodyozh and the regional Ministry of Culture.

The parade started in Kirov Square and went along the central streets of Irkutsk to the monument to Alexander III. Governor Igor Kobzev marched in the column with the young people.

“Being a student is truly a new chapter wh ere you become independent and learn to take responsibility for your decisions. I am sure that during your studies you will find both mentors and new friends. Don't forget to develop your talents and other skills in parallel with your studies. And let each of you proudly bear the title of an Irkutsk student,” Igor Kobzev addressed the young people.

The guests of honor were Margarita Tsyganova, Minister of Youth Policy, Vladislav Smetanin, Chairman of SCS, and Andrei Khomenko, representative of the Council of Rectors of the Irkutsk Region. The students' march was supported by the heads of various educational organizations.

According to Anton Koshkin, Chairman of the Students' Trade Union of INRTU, the university has traditionally shown great interest in the event as a participant and organizer.

“My deputy Alexandra Demina was responsible for the formation and coordination of the column during the march through the city. The activists also showed unity - our students' shouts were the loudest. Focusing on the organization of the parade, we did not hold interactive events or invite everyone to the photo zone in order to keep in touch with all universities and colleges.

The 2024 parade will be remembered by innovations. Firstly, we made a common photo with the flag of Russia and held the solemn part not at the stadium “Trud”, but at the monument to Alexander III. First-year students took an oath and received reciprocal promises from the vice-rectors for youth policy to help students in their busy and bright life”, stated Anton Koshkin.

The flag of INRTU was entrusted to Nikita Brylev, a first-year student of the School of Architecture, Construction and Design.

The parade included the action “Irkutsk students to the children of Kursk”. The participants of the parade brought about 500 toys, which will be handed over with humanitarian aid.
