Over 150 International Students Visited the Open Doors Day at INRTU
Open Doors Day for international students was organized in the Preparatory Department of INRTU. Over 150 students of the Baikal School of BRICS Russian language course visited the event. They got acquainted with the academic programs, advantages of study and tuition discounts.
The presentation was made by Daria Zandraeva, Head of International Admission Office. She said that bachelor's and master's degree programs in nine Schools of INRTU are open for admission. Among international students the English-taught programs of the Baikal School of BRICS are especially popular.

“This is the fourth time we have held the Open Doors Day. Today the event has attracted students from Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Benin, Pakistan, China, Mongolia and other countries. Traditionally international students who master the Russian language at the Preparatory Department continue their studies at INRTU. There are good tuition discounts for students who demonstrate high academic performance.
We collaborate with a large number of foreign universities. INRTU students regularly participate in academic exchange programs, they can get two diplomas – from INRTU and a partner university”, says Daria Zandraeva.
From the presentation of the Center for International Services, participants learned about the list of documents required to study in Russia. Foreign applicants should have an international passport, migration card, temporary registration and health insurance.
The activities of the Siberian School of Geosciences were presented by its founder Alexander Parshin. He invited international students to study undergraduate, specialist or postgraduate educational programs in geophysics, geology, hydrology and geoinformatics:

“The students of our School acquire advanced knowledge and consolidate it in practice during field work. Graduates have every chance to build a good career both at production enterprises and in science”.
The program included the INRTU Quiz, during which the participants answered questions about the history of the university, demonstrated how well they know the history of Russia and its cultural peculiarities. The winners of the quiz received memorable prizes from INRTU.
According to Alla Antonova, Head of the Department of Russian Language Linguo-Didactics, such events have a positive impact on the adaptation of foreign students:

“Open Doors Day motivates students to study Russian, allows them to feel a part of our large university and choose their professional path.”
The event was attended by Junior Tsague from Cameroon, who has been studying at the Baikal School of BRICS Preparatory Department for 10 months.

“My friends from Cameroon who graduated from INRTU recommended me to enroll in this university. I have not regretted my choice. Thanks to the professionalism of my teachers, I was able to make significant progress in learning Russian.
As a child, I loved to draw, and I was good at it. Then I learned the profession of a builder at a technical lyceum in Cameroon. In September 2025 I want to enter the School of Architecture, Construction and Design of INRTU,” Junior shared his plans.
