Laboratory for Environmental Monitoring of Natural and Man-made Environments at INRTU Expands Accreditation to Include Physical Factors and Radiation
The Laboratory for Environmental Monitoring of Natural and Man-made Environments at INRTU (Irkutsk National Research Technical University), accredited by the national accreditation system, has successfully expanded its scope of accreditation. Laboratory staff can now conduct research and measure parameters of physical factors and radiation for engineering surveys, construction, and environmental quality control.

The head of the laboratory, Professor, Dr. of Technical Sciences Andrei Bogdanov, emphasized that this procedure will significantly expand the laboratory's range of work and attract a broader spectrum of clients.
The laboratory has implemented methods for measuring parameters of noise, vibration, and electromagnetic radiation in areas of various purposes (residential, industrial, public, development zones, etc.) and in residential, public, and industrial buildings/premises. In addition, methods for conducting radiation control in areas of various purposes and in residential, public, and industrial buildings/premises have been introduced.
The laboratory's quality manager, Anastasia Shatrova, noted that the methodological development of these works was carried out jointly with the staff of the Department of Industrial Ecology and Life Safety, which provided some equipment for use.

“At INRTU, research on physical factors and radiation parameters could be of interest in the fields of industrial ecology, construction, road works, geological exploration, engineering surveys, and other environmental activities.
Already this summer, under the guidance of the Head of the Department of Industrial Ecology and Life Safety, Svetlana Timofeeva, and Associate Professor of the Department of Construction Operations, Konstantin Komarov, the laboratory participated in work involving construction expertise on the noise insulation parameters of residential floor slabs,” reported Anastasia Shatrova.
The Laboratory for Environmental Monitoring of Natural and Man-made Environments at INRTU invites all interested parties to cooperate on joint projects in the fields of quantitative chemical, agrochemical, and toxicological analysis, as well as in measuring environmental physical factors and radiation control.
Background:
The Laboratory for Environmental Monitoring of Natural and Man-made Environments was established in 2011 under the leadership of Professor, Dr. of Technical Sciences Andrei Bogdanov. In 2012, the laboratory was successfully accredited by the national accreditation system (RusAccreditation) and currently complies with ГОСТ ISO/IEC 17025-2019 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”.
The laboratory's current approved scope of accreditation includes quantitative chemical analysis of soils, ground, waste, bottom sediments, natural and waste water, and atmospheric air; conducting biotesting, including hazard class determination; agrochemical analysis; and measurement of physical factors and radiation parameters.
