INRTU Students Intern at Major Enterprises in Russia, China, Mongolia and Uzbekistan

This summer, more than 10,000 IRNITU students will intern at major enterprises and government organizations in Russia, China, Mongolia and Uzbekistan.

According to Diana Kopaigorodskaya, head of the Career Center, the number of partners ready to accept students for internships is growing every year. This year, students will intern for the first time at the pharmaceutical company “Renewal,” “Polyus Logistics,” LLC “AV Mining,” “SIBINTEK-SOFT,” and “Albynskiy Mine.” These organizations' offices are located in Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, Amur Region and Novosibirsk.

Students studying technical specialties will test their skills as interns in mining, petrochemical, aviation, and pharmaceutical companies. Humanities students will apply their knowledge in relevant ministries of the Irkutsk region, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Irkutsk region, financial institutions, and more.

For the first time, students intern at the Irkutsk branch of the multifunctional commercial educational institution “San Li.” This organization unites private schools in various provinces of China. The Irkutsk branch's task is to consolidate the education of foreign applicants in Russia.

The organizer of the student internship at “San Li” was Sergei Zakharov, Deputy Director for Foreign Affairs of the School of Economics, Management and Law.

“The students' internship became possible after a visit by the ‘San Li’ delegation to INRTU. At the 2023 meeting, we agreed to cooperate in education and career guidance.

Seven students from our School interned at the branch, including five Chinese students and second year students Diana Obodoeva and Lyubov Dansarunova. They study international economics and business,” comments Sergei Zakharov.

During the internship, students researched the education services market in Russia and China. This information will be useful for their scientific work. An additional task was to develop a tourist route to promote international tourism in the Irkutsk Region.

The students prepared a business case for a one-day tour to the “Vityaz” rock, which is part of the Olkha Plateau and is the most popular weekend route. The hike's advantages are its accessibility – you can reach the summit without special training or equipment.

“The internship at the Irkutsk branch of ‘San Li’ is another step toward developing cooperation. The School of Economics, Management and Law actively collaborates with Chinese colleagues and graduates many Chinese students. Additionally, our students go to China every year for academic exchange programs. For example, in September, six students will start studying at Peking University,” added Sergei Zakharov.
