INRTU received a special grant from the Priority 2030 program
Along with 46 Russian universities INRTU became the winner of a special grant from the Priority 2030 program in the area of Territorial or Sectoral Leadership. 106 other Russian universities competed for this grant.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the total funding of the Priority 2030 federal program by the end of 2022 will be more than 47 billion rubles.
INRTU Rector,Mikhail Kornyakov, noted that by 2030 Irkutsk National Research Technical University plans to become an authoritative autonomous engineering university with a leading position in Eurasian countries.
“The key results of the university program by 2030 will be an increase in the share of income from research and development work to the university’s budget to 35 percent and the involvement of at least 30 percent of students in real industrial projects. More than 40 percent of university graduates should be employed in companies from the Forbes Global 2000 list,” Mikhail Kornyakov said.
About the Priority 2030 program
The goal of the Priority 2030 program is to form a broad group of universities that will become leaders in creating new scientific knowledge, technologies and developments which will be implemented into the Russian economy and social sphere.
By 2030, more than 100 modern universities are planned to be developed in Russia.
Universities that have become participants of the program will develop and share the best practices of research, innovation and educational activities throughout their higher education system, increase the attractiveness of life and work in the regions of Russia for foreign students and foreign scientists. All these measures will allow graduates of Russian universities to develop the skills and abilities necessary for their success in the modern labor market and rapidly changing scientific and technological progress in the future.
