INRTU Ranks 36th in the Interfax National University Rankings

Interfax Group has released its 16th annual National University Ranking (NUR) for 2025. The NUR-2025 project assessed 389 Russian universities. The ranking includes all leading universities nationwide: 29 national research universities, 10 federal universities, 33 regional flagship universities, and 145 institutions participating in the «Priority 2030» program. Additionally, 22 private higher education institutions were evaluated.

INRTU ranked 36th with 460 points. Notably, Irkutsk Polytechnic University held the 47-48 position in the 2024 rankings.

The evaluation was conducted through processing questionnaires completed by representatives of universities, public materials on the operations and activities of the universities as published on their respective websites, open data from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation resources, data from Interfax's analytical systems of comprehensive news analysis (SPARK-Interfax and SCAN-Interfax).

The operations and activities of universities were assessed according to six parameters: education, research, social environment, international cooperation, reputation/brand name, as well as innovation and technology entrepreneurship.

INRTU ranked 26th-27th in the Social Environment category, reaffirming the university's vibrant networking ecosystem and exceptional opportunities for student self-realization. This underscores its commitment to creating talent-nurturing environments for learners.

INRTU ranks 43rd-44th in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, 49th-50th in Research, and 51st-52nd in International Cooperation and Reputation/Brand Name, Education performance placed at 171st-172nd positions.

Russia's TOP-10 universities include: M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (National Research University), National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE), Novosibirsk State University, National Research Tomsk State University, Saint Petersburg State University, Kazan (Volga region) Federal University, Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin, and National University of Science and Technology MISIS.
